Abstract
This paper aims to explain the overall concept and process of the researchers PhD topic which focuses on the issues of maintenance and evolution of Software Process in Irish Software companies. It also discusses how an organised knowledge process and effective team development could influence software organisations in maintaining and evolving software process. The research is proposing a mix method study which will applied both qualitative (interview and focus group technique) and quantitative (survey questionnaire) approaches. This paper also aims to present the main model of the present study that will drive the research. The research will be carried out from the perspective of Irish Software Very Small Enterprises (VSEs).
