Abstract
This paper presents the behaviour of precast OPS concrete flooring slabs under lifting and transporting loads. Slabs were made of OPS concrete and OPS hybrid concrete, and both were reinforced with high yield steel T10. For every slab, four Deha spherical-head plate lifting anchors were installed for lifting purpose. Tests to simulate lifting and transporting of slab were conducted at the age of 7 days. Surface crack, compressive strength and strain distribution were determined. Slabs made with OPS hybrid concrete satisfied the strength requirements at the time of lifting/transporting and at servicing. The impact of lifting and transporting was found to be insignificant.
