Abstract

This paper aims to optimize sub-carrier multiplexed wavelength division multiplexed (SCM-WDM) system comprising 51 SCM channels and multiple WDM channels to achieve maximum carrier-to-noise ratio (CNR). Total system crosstalk is computed after incorporating all the major system impairments. Based on this, optimum power level for a given link length is obtained for maximum CNR.
