Abstract

This study presents development of simulation
model for charging stratified TES based on
temperature distribution analysis. The model
developed as an open system that represent cooled
water enter to the lower part of TES tank.
Validation of the model uses similarity of
temperature distribution, cumulative cooling
capacity and parameters on full capacity.
Simulation and validation using historical data of
operating TES tank system. Simulation and
validation show that the model capable of
generation similar temperature distribution,
determination of cumulative cooling capacity as
well as charging duration. The model gives
beneficial in determination of charging parameter
of stratified TES tank based on formulation.
