Abstract
Gas District Cooling in Malaysia is intended for engineers and technology enthusiasts on the nation's unique experience of district energy plant operations using natural gas as primary fuel. With abundance of supply of natural gas, the country is blessed with its own network of natural gas pipeline which power up plants and industries. District cooling plants are one of the beneficiaries, generating electricity and air-conditioning's chilled water serving customers at strategic building complexes. Readers will gain insight into the overview, fundamental aspects, and insights of the major components of these plants. With the present positive growth of the Malaysia’s economy and the vision of becoming a developed country by 2020, the number of district cooling plants has increased significantly, thanks to the gas district cooling systems which played an important role as a model of air-conditioning plant design and management. It is the hope of the authors that readers will benefit from this book and be able to appreciate the technology behind gas district cooling systems.
