Abstract
The robustness of a power system is measured by the ability
of the system to operate in a state of equilibrium under
normal and perturbed conditions. Two major approaches
of power system analysis, which have been covered, are
power or load flow and short circuit studies. SKMÒ Power
Tools [1] has been extensively used in this project as it has
superior yet simple solution for the studies. This software
allows a qualitative description of the system’s
characteristics and data. The load flow results are
particularly useful for verification of the system stability
while short circuit results are useful for determining and
verification of the equipment selection. Gas District
Cooling (GDC) Chiller Plant located in Putrajaya Precinct
5 (PJP5) is chosen as a case study for sample analysis. The
main objective of this paper is to develop a simulation
model for power or load flow and short circuit studies to
validate the accuracy based on the actual project’s system
stability and equipment selection.
