Abstract

This paper presents a review of fuzzy risk analysis methods in a construction project. According to the literature review that has been done, the methods can be generally classified into two types; fuzzy set based on fuzzy arithmetic operation and fuzzy inference mechanism. The recent trends are inclined towards the use of fuzzy inference mechanism in developing decision support system tools for risk analysis. Fuzzy risk analysis methods have been developed to provide an alternative technique to overcome the limitation of classical probability theory in construction project risk analysis. However, some gaps are still present. Some limitations related to the models are still yet to be addressed. Therefore, extended researches are still required to be conducted in some areas which have not been covered
