Abstract

Most of knowledge in organization resides in people, so when people move the knowledge will also move with them. Furthermore, people who possess the valuable knowledge are not sufficiently known and broadcasted broadly. As a result, other people within the organization cannot effectively learn on their expertise in addressing issues to knowledge creation. Knowledge sharing has been identified by many researchers in recent years as a significant component for knowledge management system. With the growth of information technology especially in terms of repository and collaborative tools for knowledge management, this activity can be supported in organizations. Unfortunately, the support of these tools alone does not promise to stimulate knowledge sharing and many organizations are facing this problem. Therefore, this research will take an in depth look into various challenges facing by practitioners together with the view from participants perspective to promote knowledge sharing behavior for electronic network environment. Also, the researcher will examine how knowledge sharing activities within this environment affect individual learning and knowledge creation in organization. The finding will present a theoretical model that could be a possible solution to the identified problems. The study will conduct a qualitative research that uses grounded theory approach for its analysis. For the expected outcome model will be based on industrial and academic alignment of the findings.
